This is a gorgeous Senecio Articulatus Candle Plant. These beautiful succulents are often called Candle Plants or Hot Dog Cactus. They are native to South Africa and a member of the Asteraceae family. They are a wonderful evergreen perennial that have tubular stems. Leaves will appear approximately 50% of the time and are usually divided into leaflets that have green on top and purple below. The beautiful flowers are white and shaped like a tiny cup. They will form as a cluster on top of 6 inch long stems. It is a drought resistant clump-forming succulent sub-shrub. They will reach a mature height of 16–24 inches. These prefer a partial shade environment and like a soil mixture of two parts sand, one part loam, one part pea gravel, and one part peat moss with a pH level of 6.0 to 7.5. These succulents are mainly an indoor plant but they will do well outdoors in zones 9 and above. These amazing succulents are very easy to grow and maintain. They make wonderful gifts!
